Dealing with Anger, Resistance & Pessimism – Eckhart Tolle

The brilliant Eckhart Tolle responds to a questioner who shares his difficulties with anger. Tolle shares that often, our emotions and the subsequent thoughts we have about them get engaged in a situation and make things feel much worse than they really are.  The key, he offers, is to become aware of the thoughts and feelings that arise, not resist them, and simply experience their energy.  We need to remember that we are not helpless.  We can recognize these emotions and thoughts as an expression of what Tolle calls the “pain body” and by staying in a watchful and mindful state, we can overcome them.
